Toastmaster Ed. W We had an extraordinary meeting this week, with Happy Headlines table topics, a beautiful tribute to Russel Ryan, an engaging tale of heart-stopping moments and a wonderful analogy comparing baseball to life. Congratulations to Pam S. who won the Mr. Happy Award at this week's meeting for her entertaining improptu speech "Lord of the Plunger" and sincerest thanks to Area 51 Governor Judy R. for joining us and speaking.

Toastmaster Amy D.A great meeting! Thank you to everyone who stepped in at the last minute to fill meeting roles. We had two last minute speakers, a last minute speech evaluator, and a stand-in timer!

There was a tie for the Mr. Happy Award between Melissa T., for her entertaining explanation about why Burka-wearing (Burka (aka Burqa) is an all-enveloping cloak worn by Muslim women of Central and South Asia) should be outlawed in the Netherlands and Carolyn A., for her argument for mandated public transportation.

We had two new-comers today and encourage everyone to bring guests. We have a great club! Spread the word!

Toastmaster Biddy O.A fabulous meeting! Diane S. gave her first speech and Biddy gave his seventh! The focus of table topics was around principles and several members had the opportunity to describe their experience with or opinions on the subject. Thanks to Jin for the creative and challenging questions. Jessica H. took the Mr. Happy Award for her description of how she stands for her principles, even when they don't impact anything.

Business Update:Carolyn made a motion to elect Jessica H. as the new PR/Communications Officer for the club. She was elected and will be posting content on the club website. Ideas for website content are welcome!
